Lux Aurumque
This is a newly edited version of Eric Whitacre's "Lux Aurumque" for Marimba Orchestra.
Jesse Stevens is a new young composer who specializes in mallet percussion ensembles. He has been playing mallets since middle school and is continuing his passion at college and Spirit Drum & Bugle Corps. He has taken a course in music theory and will continue his passion in college.
In high school, Jesse was under the direction of Dr. Jefferson Grant, who has his doctorate in Percussion. He marched with the "Pride of Prattville" Marching Band for four years and was Section Leader of the Front Ensemble for his junior and senior year. Along with marching band, he has also been involved in the Wind Symphony and Symphonic Bands for 3 years.
Jesse is currently living in Alabama attending Jacksonville State University to pursue a career in Nursing and Health Sciences and most likely continue his obsession with percussion and composing.
